The European Larch - because one was planted for me when I was a baby and it grew with me. Unfortunately, the one in my parents' garden had to get cut down, but I always smile when I see one elsewhere. They are lovely trees, with really soft needles.
My favourite tree is one of the apple trees in my parents' garden. We think its roots are in the sewage pipe running from the house, as it always has a really good harvest even in years when we've had a drought. The apples are delicious too, similar to Worcester only even sweeter.
It was the perfect tree for climbing as well, so I used to climb right up, find a comfy seat in the branches hidden by leaves, surrounded by apples and spend hours sitting there reading my book and eating. Happy days :)
I love all types of trees, but I especially love solid, sturdy tress that seem to withstand any time. I guess if I had to choose, I would say, Oaks, and almost any form of Christmas type tree, including Spruce, Pine, Cedar, etc.
It saddens me when we have to rid our small yard of any tree in it, mostly because of telephone wires, or the like. Every tree deserves to live! <3
This is a pic of one of the lighter shades of Maple we have in the yard. We have a few of these in pots around the yard, some of which are dark gorgeous deep red right now. Breath taking! Wish I had a pic to show.
