Name: Rio dipladenia pink
Dipladenia x ameona
Description: This extremely pretty flower is a great choice for anyone with a hot sunny area that doesn't want to have to provide a lot of extra care. The large trumpet shaped flowers are attractive to birds and their bright colour is very eye catching. It can also be a compact, upright plant if contained to a pot. Multi planting in large containers for instant colour. It is an evergreen species of flowering vine grown for its showy pink flowers and vigorous climbing habit. Great for growing over pergolas.
Size: Height 30 to 36 cm, Width 30 to 36cm if in a pot. If allowed to grow up a column or post it will grow a long way. A number of years ago I had one that grew up a post and along a beam for about 7 metres.
Conditions: Best in warm, high light areas. Part shade to full sun. If planted in cool and damp areas it can result in poor growth and susceptibility to pest and diseases.
Propagation: The plant can be propagated from a cutting, but they must be kept where they can be warm and in moist conditions.
